James Avery Launches Pendant to Benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of America Located on Military Bases

Jeweler hopes to donate $100,000 to the charity through special pendant’s sales

KERRVILLE, TEXAS--(BUSINESS WIRE – November 10, 2008) — James Avery, a family-owned jewelry retailer, announces the launch of a new program to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America at U.S. Military Youth Centers.  At the program’s center is the release of the new “God Bless Our Troops” Pendant, a pendant design depicting an awareness ribbon and displaying the words “God Bless Our Troops”.  The piece was designed to honor all of the members of the armed services who courageously serve, protect and defend the United States of America.

Beginning November 11th (Veterans Day) and running through December 31, 2008, James Avery will donate 50% of the purchase price of each pendant sold to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America at the U.S. Military Youth Centers, up to a maximum goal of $100,000.

For the past 13 years, BGCA has partnered with military youth centers to enhance programs and services for more than 500,000 youth.  They offer a variety of meaningful activities to youth during the summer and after school that provide a safe environment, a supportive caring staff of professionals, opportunities to develop life skills, and recognition of their achievements.

Chris Avery, president and chief operating officer for James Avery stated, “We learned of BGCA’s efforts for the youth on the U.S. military bases and were especially focused on helping with those programs.  With the launch of this new pendant we are able to show our support for the members of our military as well as give back to the youth of America.”
