Kate’s Miracle Butterfly

As a cancer survivor, Kate finds special significance in the butterfly. For her it symbolizes her emergence from a time of illness. In celebration of her current wellness she has quite a collection of Avery butterflies-but there was one piece she missed: the iconic Lace Wing Butterfly Pendant.
It had been retired for some time when she saw it at our Visitors' Center in Kerrville, Texas. She asked to buy it, but was informed the pendant she saw was part of our historical display and not currently for sale. She was discouraged, but she didn't give up.
Instead, she let friends, family and her Twitter community know she was looking to buy the pendant. She told so many people, in fact, that when a beautiful, new Lace Wing Butterfly pendant turned up in her mailbox with no note and no return address, she had no idea who to thank. "This is why I call it my miracle piece," she explains "it means the world to me."
Have a piece that means the world to you? Tag your post #myjamesavery. We'd love to hear about it.
