Classic & Timeless
This chain has it all - good looks, strength, and style. I have it in the 28" length but certainly could use one in 20" and 24" as well. This chain is a forever piece that I reach for all the time. I wear the retired hammered shield pierced cross pendant on it and the large hammered heart and it holds its own. I love the design of the clasp on a JA necklace as it turns to avoid kinking or difficulty using. These light cable chains are the real deal!
Light Cable Chain - classic style that looks good with any pendant. Chain width is perfect for 16" length, not too thick or too delicate.
A Nice, Classy Alternative To A Chain
I've had several of these in different lengths for sometime.
It's nice to have longer ones for sweaters or different neck lines, and the same for shorter in the summer when we tend to wear more open neck lines.
This is so beautiful, yet simple. It really makes any pendant you place on it "pop" because the black contrasts with the metal placed onto it. It gives the piece a completely different look.
I like to interchange my items from chains to leather to the silken cord depending on the season or what I'm wearing.
It lays nicely on the neck. I've noticed sometimes my leather cords will not lay correctly because I store them coiled in the JA box, so I have to pull out the hair dryer and heat it up to make it a little more flexible if I haven't worn the leather for awhile. That is not the case with this cord.
Next time you're in a James Avery store, try this on and you'll see what I mean!
Okay--this is a fabulous necklace! My sister and I just got two a piece in different lengths this past weekend and LOVE them. This cord is very versatile and can slide on and off a lot of pendants (stylized scroll, swirl heart, simple swirl, beaded oval onyx, sculpted spring butterfly)--unlike the leather cords. It feels great and once you get the hang of the clasp, it is a snap to get on and off. I recommend trying it on in the store with your pendants...it does not fit the grape leaf pendant, one of my favorite. I found this out in the store while trying it on so I wasn't so disappointed at home. Only complaint is the price... wish it were just bit less...
I got this cord to wear with the Open Hammered Tear Drop pendant that I'd just bought. The cord itself is beautiful and go well with the pendant. The only complaint I have is the clasp is a little difficult to operate. Once I got the clasp to securely close, then the cord is beautiful on. I think it's a little pricey considering it's just a plain cord, but I'm keeping it anyway. I like the comfortable feel and the style enough to overlook the other flaws.
Love this cord
My husband bought this silken cord for me with a heart pendant for valentine's day a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. So soft and weightless. I also like the way the clasp works and looks.
Reason for the 4 star on the "value" - I wish it was a little less expensive.
Having had such great experience with it myself, just today I bought my mom one!
Nice addition to my collection
I recently purchased the "Silken Cord" and am so glad that I did. I liked the look of the leather cord, but didn't want to permanently put a charm or pendant on it. I like to move my charms to different chains according to the neckline I am wearing, so I like the versatility of being to change things out. I took in a pendant with a large bail to see if the cord's clasp would fit through the bail and it did with no problem. I was even more delighted when I returned home and tried it on my other pendants and charms. The clasp slide through easily on every one I own and the black cord enhanced the black oxidation on my charms and gave a different look than the chains. The fact that the cord comes in various lengths is another bonus. I purchased the 18" length, but may purchase a 16" or another length in the future. The security of the clasp was another concern that I had, but I discovered that the clasp is secure because one end slides into the other and then you twist the ends in opposite directions to secure it and once you have done that it won't pull apart. I do give it a small tug to ensure that I have it properly latched. To open you simply twist in the opposite direction and pull apart.
If you own a lot of pendants and charms this is an inexpensive way to get a different look when added to what you already own.
