The cross that started it all
While teaching at the University of Colorado in 1951, James Avery designed and crafted the Plain Latin Cross. The inspiration for his first cross design came from a Southwestern Pueblo Indian Cross that he admired for its strength and simplicity. Soon after, James Avery began making crosses for others and his business began to grow.
