"I purchased this cross from JamesAvery. com as a gift for my friend who had lost hers, but I will be returning it. I have the same twisted wire cross myself. My friend and I both purchased our crosses 10 to 12 years ago. This new cross feels lighter and thinner, and the design appears to have been stamped on. Overall, it is less substantial than the old cross, and the details are not as clear and defined. Also, the bale is bent. I was able to find another James Avery twisted wire cross at Dillard's in Springfield, MO. The cross from Dillard's is also of lesser quality than the old cross. And while the bale is straight, the bale is smaller than the bales on the older twisted wire crosses. This new cross from Dillard's would not fit on the chain I wear my cross on, or on any of my friend's gold chains. She plans to take the cross to her jeweler to see if it can be made larger. I should point out that a few weeks before I purchased this cross from JamesAvery. com, I had purchased another twisted wire cross from the Dillard's in Rogers, AR, which I had to return. The bale on that cross was bent also, so it is a quality control issue, rather than a random thing."
