A gift from my students!
At the end of this school year I received these beautiful earrings as a sweet gift from a few of my current and former students! A little background: I am a world history teacher in the League City/Friendswood area just south of Houston, and earlier in the school year (I think around Thanksgiving) I teach about the Byzantine Empire and discuss things like typical art and architecture it is known for. One of the styles of art that I show students is mosaics, because the Byzantines created a lot of religious art using mosaics. As a part of this, I show that even today the Byzantine influence can be found, and show students images from James Avery's "Byzantine Collection." I go on to tease them that if they want to buy me a Christmas present, I would be happy with any of the pieces, ha ha ha wink wink. Well they filed that away for future reference, and 12 of them went together and bought me these gorgeous earrings as a year-end gift! I was so surprised and touched 🙂 🙂 🙂.
I received these ear hooks for my birthday and just love them. They are so beautiful!
